Inception

I just finished watching the movie Inception.  Yes, I’m quite late and all the internet chatter about this movie has finished.  The reason I’m behind is that I always wait for the movie to come out on Netflix, either streaming or DVD and even though it has been in our queue for a while, we just got it.

This movie really hit home as the concepts were things I have thought before.  Actually, I’m sure the deep thinkers out there have thought about it and with the massive amount of YouTube videos and websites on the subject I would imagine that you’ve at least come across the subject once or twice.

As I write, I’ve just recalled where I heard about this before.  I must have been around 12 years old and someone mentioned the “brain in a vat” theory.  In short, it says we could all just be dreaming this reality.  After that idea had faded from my brain it was refreshed with The Matrix movie albeit in a computer theme.  I again began to wonder about the nature of reality and if we could all be living in a dream.  Or perhaps I am living in a dream and you are all just my projections like in the movie Inception.

Now, to get to the really strange and the personal.

Up until college everything seemed pretty normal.  Then, I hit my head pretty hard in college yet found myself in Spain within the week.  It was a study abroad program so nothing too out of the ordinary.  Fast forward a decade or so and I had learned three other languages, traveled where I wanted and set up shop as I pleased.  I turned my mind to finding a great job with a famous Japanese company and within a month a Japanese recruiter called me who just happened to have a job with a famous Japanese company and she just happened to find it among the millions of resumes on careerbuilder.com.

I got the job.

I think about how great it would be to reconnect with all my friends all at once.  Then MySpace and Facebook happen.

Then I think about how working from home as an outside sales rep would be great.  A year later I find myself with a job as an outside sales rep working from home.

After that I decide it would be great to live near the ocean.  And now I live near the ocean.

Then, as if the Universe were toying with me, it decides to remind me that this could all be a dream as I watch the movie Inception.

Yes, I know, pretty far out stuff.  But I will have to cut this post short as I must concentrate on the winning lottery numbers for this week as well as the fantastic success of my other blog.

Bye bye.
