Mexico – 7.22.1999

As I was saying I went to bed early only to be woken up around 2:30am by two booze hounds named Jen and Angela.  They had gone to a bar with a few Mexicans and came back wasted.  Finally they quit bothering us and I got a whole hour of sleep before I had to awake at 5:30am.  Actually we were supposed to be ready at 5:30 but I was so tired I couldn’t make myself get up.  Finally I did and was on the bus.  I slept the whole time but it was kind of like torture because I was so tired and those bus seats are not comfortable at all.  Our first stop was at a water office where they regulate or control the irrigation systems.  I really couldn’t say because I was so tired that I couldn’t stay awake.  It seemed to me like that class went on and on.

After that we went to another meeting with a few farmers.  They explained the irrigation system further.  It was kind of interesting but it’s not something I am really interested in so it was hard to pay attention.  I did like hearing their personal experiences though.

After that we went to McDonald’s for lunch (Thank God) then out to the fields to see the irrigation system in action.  It made me realize what a city boy I am and how beautiful the country is.  It was such a beautiful landscape.

Finally we came to the hotel and I had one heck of a stomach ache and am still tired so I skipped the tour of the city and am writing this.  It’s so nice to finally relax.  I better hit the sack though so I have energy for tomorrow.
