It is 4:37 AM on November 18th, 2018. I’m in Dallas Texas for the start of our annual sales training meeting which runs through Friday. Today is also my son’s birthday and I’m bummed I cannot be there.
I woke up early for Dallas and very early for California time. The reason is I didn’t sleep well the night before in anticipation for this trip so went to bed very early last night. It is so quiet now and I wonder if I should try and get a little more sleep before my alarm goes off at 6 AM.
Although I usually don’t like sales meetings since in previous companies it just amounted to a grilling by managers these meetings are actually very useful and one learns a lot. Today we’ll learn about improvements to internal systems as well as selling processes. Tomorrow is sales training from an outsourced company and Friday we’re learning about Salesforce improvements called Lightning.
I can’t believe I’m already up at this hour and wonder if I should try to get a bit more sleep as I really do not want to be tired for the training. I think I’ll do that and write more later.
