Mexico – 7.20.1999

Today was a long day.  We got up for class and Geralyn was sick yet again.  Today wasn’t just a long day of class though.  We went to CIMMYT (I think that’s how it’s spelled)  It was where the green revolution took place.  Agriculture really isn’t my cup of tea but it was neat to see the place we talked about so much in my AE597 class back at OSU.  I was really tired after that and had to decline an invitation to go to Dr. Valezquez house for tea.  One thing I wish we had on this trip is a bit more free time.  I am glad that I’m learning so much in such a short time but being constantly busy and around the same group is trying.

I still don’t know where I stand in my feelings for Mexico yet.  I love speaking the language and the attitude of the people but I don’t like how dirty everything is.  I wonder if I could just get used to it but I don’t know.  I am extremely happy to have this opportunity though and it means a lot to me.  Next maybe I’ll have to try Argentina.  Maybe I just really haven’t given Mexico a chance yet.  Well, I still have three more weeks to figure it out.

I got a lot of E-mails from my girlfriend today and I finally realize how lucky I am to have a girl like her.  I am really picky when it comes to women and I’m just so glad I found her.  I can’t wait to spend a  week with her when I get back.

Well, we have a midterm tomorrow and I better figure out what is going on.
